Our Elder Client Partner, Linda Johnston, has recently played a key role in the establishment of an Elder Client Working Group of Solicitors within the Law Society of NI.

As a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and as the first NI member of Solicitors for the Elderly, Linda has always had a keen interest, as well as specialist experience, in the field of Elder Client law and with the assistance of the Law Society of NI, she has created a Group for Solicitors who are interested in the work of elderly and vulnerable clients.

The proposed Group now meet regularly to consider issues such as mental capacity, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, Tax and Estate planning, Trusts, Probate, asset preservation, nursing care fees and funding, as well as issues of elder abuse and dealing with the Office of Care and Protection.

For further advice or assistance in any of the above areas of Elder Client care and Future Planning, Linda can be contacted on 028 9024 3901 or at lj@fhanna.co.uk.
