At Francis Hanna & Co, we have specialist solicitors dedicated to helping victims of child abuse pursue claims for compensation where the abuse has taken place in schools, care homes, the church or similar institutions.

In one such case we were instructed in involved a gentleman who was sexually abused between the age of 10-17 years old whilst an altar boy within the Church.  Like many cases of this nature, our client suffered abuse over a sustained period of time and remained silent, having been threatened about the effect that any report could have on his family, the Church and the offending priest.

Following the abuse coming to light, our client successfully argued that he was failed by Catholic Church and that steps were not taken to remove the offending priest from the Diocese and therefore prevent further abuse occurring to others.  Our client went on to report the matter to police and received counselling.

Upon contacting Francis Hanna & Co we were able to successfully pursue a civil claim for our client and secure him a substantial sum in compensation, despite the abuse occurring when our client was a child.

We are on hand to compassionately and confidentially advise about the possibility and merits of making a claim in respect of any historical abuse matter.  We will never rush you or put you under any pressure to pursue a claim. If you or someone you know has been the victim of historical child abuse, please telephone us for further information or for a free, no obligation discussion on 028 9024 3901 or contact us online using the contact us form.
